20-year-old has serious head injuries
A young man has serious head injuries after being attacked with a glass bottle in Exmouth on Wednesday night.
Earlier in the evening, police dispersed people partying on the beach. Around 11.20pm police were called to the town's railway station after a man was found in a train carriage with severe injuries.
It's being treated as a racially aggravated assault. Devon and Cornwall Police officers were supported by British Transport Police and the ambulance service. They were told the assault had taken place in the street before moving to the station. A bottle, believed to be linked to the incident, was seized by officers at the scene.
The victim is a 20-year-old man from Exeter. Although his injuries are severe and he was taken to hospital, they're not being treated as life-threatening.
