Man in critical condition after Holsworthy stabbing

A 50-year-old man from the town has been arrested

A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in Holsworthy in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The incident happened in Fore Street, where the 50-year man from the town was stabbed in the stomach.

He remains in a critical condition at a hospital in Bristol.

Richard Palmer, who’s also in his 50s and from the town, was arrested and has been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Another man, aged 31 and also called Richard Palmer, has been charge with actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both appeared before Exeter Magistrates’ Court today [5 August] and have been held in remand until their next appearance at Exeter Crown Court on Thursday 5 September.
