A man has been rescued by fire crews, after a blaze at a flat in Bideford late last night [29 January].
They were called to Marlborough Court at 11.20pm when a fire alarm went off at the property.
On arrival, fire officers immediately requested another appliance after discovering a fire in the hallway of the first floor.
The casualty was then rescued and given first aid and oxygen, before being taken to hospital.
Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue said the flat suffered 30% fire damage and 80% heat and smoke damage, while the cause is believed to be accidental.
