Police are warning people to stay away from swollen rivers and flooded areas.. particularly if they've been drinking.
It comes after a man had to be rescued from a flood relief channel in Exeter at about 3am on Satuday.
The channel was only a couple of feet deep in water but the walls were high enough to make escape impossible.
The man had to be taken to hospital by ambulance, suffering from the effects of exposure to the elements.
