Police are appealing for witnesses, after a man sustained a broken jaw during a violent unprovoked assault in South Molton.
The attack took place between 1.30am and 2am on Saturday 8 February outside the front of Spar on The Square.
Four men were involved in the attack, with one throwing a punch which knocked the 24-year-old victim unconscious, breaking his jaw so badly he required surgery and two plates to be fitted.
Police understand there were several people who witnessed the assault and others who came to the aid of the victim.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have information which could help them with their investigation.
