Smaller and up-and-coming arts organisations in Exeter are to start receiving funding from the city council.
Up until now the council has only funded the bigger and more established venues including the Phoenix centre and Northcott Theatre.
But on Monday councillors will be asked to approve grants for smaller organisations including the Double Elephant Print Workshop and the Sound Gallery.
However the overall budget remains the same - so some of the grants to larger venues will be slightly smaller.
