An unusual scheme's been announced to help prevent sixty vulnerable properties in Ottery St Mary from being flooded.
Fifty thousand pounds has been awarded by government to the Devon Wildlife Trust for so called natural flood management.
It involves slowing down the flow of the Furze Brook before it reaches the river Otter by making soil and woods soak up more water.
