With council tax bills dropping through East Devon letter boxes this week, the area's council has launched a booklet explaining where money will be spent.

Produced in partnership with Devon County Council, the Police and Fire Service, the publication aims to help households understand the charging system and make it easier to see if any exemptions are applicable.

The booklet costs five pence per copy to produce and could reduce the number of phone enquires about the 60,000 bills that are issued.
Councillor David Cox, Cabinet Member for Finance, said: "The booklet contains handy information for people living in the district. The East Devon pages make it clear how much of your money is spent directly by EDDC on providing and improving services in this district".

Householders will also receive details of changes to refuse and recycling collections over the Easter, May and August Bank Holiday periods.
