'Steve has demonstrated an incredible level of engagement'
Torbay MP Steve Darling has passed a parliamentary milestone – asking his 100th question in just 150 days since being elected.
The Liberal Democrat MP, who took the seat from his Conservative predecessor Kevin Foster in July, has raised issues including the future of Torbay Hospital, military veterans’ pensions and compensation and support for high streets.
He has also put his name to 44 Early Day Motions, which are parliamentary tools used to draw attention to specific issues.
The chair of the Torbay Liberal Democrats Pamela Bagnall said: “Steve has demonstrated an incredible level of engagement in parliament since his election in July this year. Steve has always been incredibly hard-working so it’s no surprise that he’s hit this landmark so early on as our MP.”
