Plans for a new Muslim centre at St Thomas in Exeter have been withdrawn.
Last week an anonymous leaflet campaigning against it was distributed.
The family behind the centre say they fear for their safety. They wanted to turn an old commercial building in Buller Road into a Shia Muslim meeting-place.
A sticker referring to jihadists was also placed on the property.
