Delays could be eased by moving restrictions says Cllr Connett
Devon County Councillor Alan Connett says moving restrictions on Bridge Road would ease delays on one of Exeter's busiest routes.
Writing on Facebook, he wrote: "I’ve sent this short video clip to the senior highways officers at County Hall. I’ve asked (again) if the start of the Lane restriction could be moved down towards the roundabout," he said.
"This would allow traffic to carry on, as now, to Marsh Barton but allow traffic for Exminster and towards Dawlish to get away much more easily to the left. It would also reduce traffic hold ups on Bridge Road.
"I’ve asked why the County Council, it’s agents and the contractors don’t communicate with the community about these changes. Whether we like it or not, the work has to happen, but with advance notice people could plan their routes, change arrangements etc.
"If you’d like to share your comments with the County Council, the chief executive is Phil Norrey and his email is phil.norrey@devon.gov.uk."
