"It's never too late!"
Plymouth-based mother and daughter, Laura and Babs Horton, are currently at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival together, with their own shows.
Both Laura and Babs have strong connections to Theatre Royal Plymouth. Laura worked in various roles at the theatre at the beginning of her career and, in recent years, Babs has run writing groups with other practitioners at TRP, including Acting Up and People’s Company.
On their first trip to Edinburgh together, Laura said: “I’m taking my second play to the Fringe at 40 and my mum is taking her first play at 71, we’re both testament to the fact it’s never too late.
“It’s comforting to know we’ll be there together and will have each there for support. I’m lucky to have writing as a shared passion with her.”
The shows have both been receiving great reviews and continue to entertain the audiences in Edinburgh.
Audiences can watch Lynn Faces at Summerhall and In The Lady Garden is performing at Pleasance.
So, for those heading to the Fringe Festival, there is still time to catch these two brilliant shows and raise the profile of Plymouth in Edinburgh even more.
