Someone on Facebook knew where it was
Police in Tiverton posted on Facebook saying they were "stumped".
They said: "We like a challenge and are normally very good at finding stuff. But over the past couple of days we have had an interesting job come in. One that means we could do with enlisting the help of the community in, hopefully, a positive way.
Now, as Police, we don't tend to get involved in lost property very much anymore. The website "Reportmyloss.com" has provided people with a quick and simple way to report loss.
But... there are occasions when we can get involved. Today is one of those occasions, the lost property is worth around £19000 and..... is a car.
We have been approached by an "older" gentleman who has got slightly confused as to where his car has been left, we believe it is in Tiverton, somewhere..., probably. It is certainly in the surrounding area.... Hopefully.
He has given us his slightly embarrassed permission to post this in the hope it will be shared and we might locate his pride and joy."
Within an hour of posting the plea, someone told them where they'd seen it, with parking tickets on.
The man is said to be VERY grateful.
