Four men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Exeter at the weekend. A 21 year old man was found unconscious in Cowick Street in the early hours of Saturday morning - and is now in hospital with serious head and neck injuries
Police think he was attacked, before being struck by a car in an unrelated incident.
They've now traced a silver Subaru which they say was not involved in the collision, but is being examined as part of the investigation.
Anyone who saw what happened and hasn't yet spoken to police is asked to come forward.
The men arrested, three from Exeter and one from Newton Abbot and all in their 20s, have been released on bail.
