Police still trying to trace two witnesses in rape case

Police have conacted two people who may be able to help with a suspected rape investigation after help from the public to identify them.

However, they still need help putting names to two other faces that they believe are associated with the incident.

The individuals are thought to have been in contact with the individual on the night of the incident, and are not suspected of any wrongdoing.

The victim was allegedly assaulted at the car park behind Topsham Fire Station between 2am and 5am on Monday 17 October.

A 22-year-old from Topsham and a 26-year-old have been released under investigation, while a 32-year-old man from Torquay has been released on bail.

Devon & Cornwall Police thanked the public for helping identify the two individuals who may be able to help with the investigation.

DI Tanya Youngs said “We now know who two of the four people are and would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter,

“But we need to trace the remaining two (pictured) as well.

“We would again like to stress that the people we wish to identify are not suspected of any wrongdoing.”

Police have urged anyone who might any information on the identities of the other two pictures individuals to call 101, quoted the reference, 50000748636.
