Police to step up drug tests on drivers

People who drive after taking drugs in Devon and Cornwall are being warned that police can now test them at the rodside - and will be stepping up anti drug-driving operations.

The devices can detect cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy and ketamine.

Police have described them as a game-changer and hope they'll help get dangerous drug-drivers off the road.

Nearly 50 people died on the roads of the two counties last year and police say they know drugs are linked to many serious traffic accidents.
