Young biker dies
Devon and Cornwall Police have made a mandatory self-referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) following a fatal collision.
A 23-year-old local man was pronounced dead at the scene after his Suzuki motorcycle collided with a black Nissan car on Boringdon Hill in Plympton around 1:40 pm on Saturday (13 December).
His next of kin have been informed. The car's occupants were not injured.
The self-referral to the IOPC was made because the biker had been involved in prior contact with the police before the incident.
The IOPC is now conducting an independent investigation into the circumstances.
If you witnessed the incident or have any information or dashcam footage that could help with enquiries, contact police online or by calling 101, quoting log number 362 of 13/12/25.
