New markets and street stalls could soon be springing up around East Devon. The district council wants more opportunities for small businesses to trade.
At the moment there are just a handful of locations in the district where the council can issue licences for street trading - and it's actively banned in many streets in Exmouth, Honiton and Sidmouth.
In other towns including Ottery St Mary and many rural areas the council hahave no control at all.
Now the aim is to get rid of many of the prohibitions and create flourishing markets and street stalls, which could be linked to festivals and other outdoor events.
A consultation's begun and anyone interested is encouraged to give their views.
