The Cabinet Office has praised an initiative to free up hospital beds in the Exeter and east Devon area.
The Westbank centre in Exminster has recruited an army of volunteers to support elderly patients in their own homes, if they don't have friends or family to help them.
The scheme can prevent people being admitted to hospital unnecessarily, or having to stay there because there's no-one to help them at home.
The charity is now looking to expand the scheme and would like to hear from anyone who'd like to join as a volunteer - full training and support will be given to them.
