RAMM wins design award

Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum has won three architectural awards for the quality of its re-design.

The Royal Institute of Brtish Architects also recognised the firm behind the work, Allies and Morrison, and the city council as a client.

The awards recognised the way the existing building has been revamped and given a contemporary look, which included turning a courtyard into a new indoor space and building a walkway which links up with the visitor route along the Roman wall.

The museum was chosen as a regional winner and also received the Conservation award and the title of Building of the Year.
