From centre stage to centre cage!
The Princess Theatre in Torquay has made a special donation to Paignton Zoo – a selection of its retired ropes!
These ropes, once used to hoist backdrops and scenery, are now providing endless fun for the lemurs in Lemur Woods.
The sturdy ropes are perfect for climbing and swinging, giving the primates new ways to explore their habitat.
Ross Bibby, General Manager of the Princess Theatre, explains, " repurposing them for use in animal enclosures offers a valuable second life and provides excellent enrichment for animals, whilst also preventing the ropes from ending up in landfill."
This creative reuse of materials not only helps the theatre by clearing out old equipment, but it also enriches the lives of the lemurs, making it a win-win for everyone involved!
