Exeter Chiefs Director Of Rugby Rob Baxter has high hopes leading into Exeter's last game of 2017 against Leicester.
Exeter Chiefs, who currently have a 10-point lead at the top of the Aviva Premiership, face Leicester Tigers on Sunday (New Year’s Eve) at Sandy Park.
Leicester travel to the West Country on a bad run of form having lost their last 5 games. Chiefs on the other hand, are pursuing their seventh successive Premiership victory.
Now, the Chiefs will be hoping to wrap up a memorable 2017 in style. However, Leicester and Gloucester remain the only two sides to have defeated the Chiefs in the league so far this season. As they proved in September, Leicester are a hard side to beat. They showcased there attacking abilities against Exeter as they narrowly defeated them 20-13 earlier this season.
Ahead of the game on New Year’s Eve, Baxter told Radio Exe:
“We are very pleased with our Premiership form. We are aware Leicester are a team that can cause us problems. The reality of the result will come down to which team can drive it’s own game for the longest with the most intensity.”
