Volunteers are invited to join Seaton Town Council on Saturday 10th March for its annual Big Beach and Town Clean ahead of the summer season.
The annual clean is a community event that brings the town together to ensure the beach and town are spotless for the imminent tourism seasons.
Peter Burrows, Seaton Town Councillor, says, “The mile-long pebble beach at Seaton Bay sits right on the edge of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO world heritage site, and is a beautiful environment that we are keen people can enjoy and help us protect. Our big clean is a fun day in the fresh air open to anyone who wants to get involved. It’s a chance for us all to get involved, be proud of the amazing beach and town we have here and ensure we are showing Seaton off at its very best to visitors.”
Seaton beach was awarded ‘excellent’ by DEFRA water quality inspectors in November 2017 alongside three other East Devon beaches.
Those interested in joining in with the clean should meet at Pebbles Café at 10am on Saturday 10th March.
