He didn't file crime report
A south west police officer has been fired for not recording a crime report.
In September 2019.PC Christopher Woodman attended an incident in allegations of common assault were made. Now a disciplinary hearing by Devon and Cornwall Police has found his actions amounted to gross misconduct.
A three-day public hearing concluded that PC Woodman had breached the expected standards of professional behaviour.
He's now been sacked without notice and his details submitted to the College of Policing Barred List, which prevents him working in policing.
Head of professional standards with the force, detective superintendent Paul Kessell said: “On this occasion the behaviour of the officer fell below the standards expected within policing.
"Through his actions, the officer undermined the public’s trust and confidence in the police force and did not fulfil his duties and responsibilities.
“Such behaviour will not be tolerated within policing and the decision made by the independent chair is that the officer is dismissed without notice.”
The police haven't revealed information about the alleged incident, or anything about the officer other than his name.
