Storms cause havoc across Devon

The River Culm at Broadclyst has burst its banks

But scenes of beauty too

Two days of heavy rain and fierce winds have taken their toll across the region. Boxing Day was particularly bad for road accidents, with some vehicles aqua-planing when hitting floodwater at speed.

Exeter City's league two match against Forest Green Rovers was abandoned at half-time. The game will be replayed in full, meaning the two teams will meet five times this season (the FA Cup second round replay takes place next month).

The Environment Agency has flood alerts in place for many Devon rivers.
