Vessel destroyed in fire in Torbay
Work is due to begin to remove the sunken yacht ‘Rendezvous’ from Torquay Harbour.
Since the incident on Saturday 28 May, Tor Bay Harbour Authority have been working with a wreck removal company on the salvage operation.
Vessels and equipment due to work on the salvage operation are on their way and divers have been in the water to make the final preparations.
Removal of the remaining fuel and the lifting of the vessel should start on Tuesday and, subject to weather and unforeseen circumstances, the lift will be completed by Thursday.
Princess Pier remains closed and only essential personnel will be granted access.
Once the salvage operation has been safely completed, repairs to Princess Pier will begin, before it reopens to the public.
