Swimmer still missing a week on

Teenager was in group enjoying dip off Hoe

A week on from an emergency search off the Hoe in Plymouth for a missing man, he has been named as 18-year-old Michael Oppong Yeboah,

He was last seen in the water just after 11pm on Monday 18 March when he did not return to shore when swimming with a group of people who had spent the evening together.

Specialist teams from the police and searched the area but could not find Mr Yeboah whose next of kin have been informed.

DC Adam Fitzpatrick, who is investigating the incident, said: “I’m keen to hear from anyone who saw a group of people in the area of the shoreline next to Tinside Lido during the evening of 18 March and may be able to assist us.”
