The 17-year-old was also robbed by the two men, say police

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old boy was assaulted and robbed in South Molton yesterday evening [1 August].

The boy was approached by two men in New Road around 7pm.

He was punched in the face before the pair made off with his bag containing his mobile phone, money and other property.

The teenager was taken to North Devon District Hospital after sustaining a number of facial injuries, including a suspected fractured jaw.

Police are investigating and searching for two men, one black and one white, and both aged around 30.

They were both wearing shorts and T-shirts covered in paint. It is believed that they may have been in a nearby pub prior to the incident or could have been in the South Molton area working on the day of the offence.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by phone on 101, quoting log number 0885 of 01/08/19.
