Teenagers in Tiverton are being warned that a derelict poultry plant isn't a playground. The catalogue of hazards at the former chicken packing factory in Blundells Roqad reads like a checklist for health and safety inspectors.
It's structurally unsafe, contains asbestos and other toxic chemicals, has uncovered drainage pits which someone could fall into, and is also considered a fire risk.
Yet local teenagers have been using it as a meeting place.
A letter's now been sent to parents of pupils at Tiverton High School - meanwhile police and the district council are working with the building's owners to secure the site.
