WATCH: Eric Crocker walking fund-raiser
He's Devon's Sir Tom Moore!
A gent of advancing years is walking a mile a day in March to raise money so people who use a day centre in Teignmouth can have a free Christmas lunch (but at Christmas, not in March).
Eric Crocker, 88, walks with the help of a mobility stroller, and rain or shine, he's out in the town on his sponsored walk.
Originally, Mr Crocker had hoped to raise £200 but he has already trousered more than £500 for the good cause.
The former postman was inspired after he went for Christmas lunch - along with 73 others - at the Alice Cross Centre last year.
Jackie O'Brien from centre said: "He is smashing it. We are so proud of him. He is really inspiring all of us to get out there and do our walking every day.
"It's just been an honour to have Eric as our Captain Tom."
The Alice Cross Centre offers a meal delivery service and a warm space community café.
