Fire crews in Torquay worked through the early hourst after a fire broke out at a bookshop in Union Street.
Town centre manager Steve Holdup says there's nothing left of The Work at all.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue received several calls around 11 p.m. on Tuesday. The tw- storey property was well alight but he time two appliances from Torquay and the aerial ladder platform got there.
Although the fire was out within a couple of hours, crews worked to make sure it didn't spread to neighbouring properties.
