Devon Trading Standards are warning local residents about a bogus phone caller claiming to be from the local authority.
There have been several reports of a caller saying they're a county council officer and talking about claiming compensation after a recent accident.
The bogus officer then tries to obtain personal and financial information.
Anyone receiving one of these calls should hang up and then report it to Trading Standards.
