A disabled woman has been rescued after getting into trouble in the River Exe at Topsham.
The twenty two year old had left her wheelchair and gone for a swim fully clothed, but then disappeared.
Crew from the inshore Exmouth lifeboat, George Bearman, plucked her from the water and took her to a pontoon, while the new Shannon class lifeboat stood by.
She was taken by ambulance to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital - Her condition isn't known.
