Woman sexually assaulted in Plymouth

Man enters property to attack her

Police investigating reports of a sexual assault on a woman in Plymouth are urgently appealing for information.

The incident is reported to have taken place in a property in St Pancras Avenue in the Pennycross area of the city just after 7 p.m. on Thursday [17 March].

A man whom she didn't know entered the woman's property and sexually assaulted her. She managed to get him out of the building before calling police. She is now being supported by specialist officers.

The suspect is white, aged approximately in his mid-twenties, around 5ft 5ins tall and of a slim build with a shaved head and pitted complexion. He was wearing a black tracksuit with black shoes.

Detective inspector Andy Hodges said: “Our enquiries remain ongoing and I would urge any drivers with dashcam who were in the area around the time of the incident to contact us.

"I am also appealing to residents who have doorbell camera footage to come forward. This may be of huge benefit to our investigation.

“Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area and anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting CR/023088/22.”
