Darryl-Robert Aesthetics secures top prize

An aesthetic company from Exeter is celebrating after being voted the best in the UK.

Darryl-Robert Aesthetics, owned and run by Darryl Gumbrill of Cranbrook, near Exeter, took the title "Best for Aesthetics" in the UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2023 at a star-filled award ceremony in Birmingham on Friday, April 21.

The Hair and Beauty Awards (HBA) is a national event which champions the UK's best hair and beauty salons up and down the country.

Prior to the announcement of the National Award winner, Darryl-Robert Aesthetics took the Southern Regional Award "Best for Aesthetics" title at the ceremony.

Daryl runs his business from premises in Cranbrook and at other locations in South Devon. He has been delivering these services for the past four years and has been endorsed many times for his high standards.

Darryl said he is still in shock that he won both the regional and national awards.

He said: "I have been a one-person company and have worked extremely hard in building a now award-winning company.

"Personally, I'm passionate about aesthetics because I adore how inventive they can be. More significantly, I enjoy the emotions they evoke in others.

“As a result, I made the decision to launch an aesthetic company in addition to my day job as an healthcare manager in order to provide affordable aesthetic procedures."

Darryl said that he believed his healthcare work helped to provide him with a wealth of knowledge in a variety of topics.

He continued: "I loved getting treatments, so I figured if I applied my expertise and love of the field, I would be successful.

"More than 750 of my clients have returned because I did this successfully.

"How quickly the pastime developed into a company astounded me.

"I'm not sure if this is due to the fact that I offer treatments at reasonable prices or if it's just because I'm transparent and don't hold any secrets."

He added: "I am thrilled to receive national recognition for all the hard work.

"Like many others, I don't do my work for praise, but to get that recognition by being named National Winner by independent judges is quite a big thing, and I'm over the moon to have been selected."
