A303 dualling not included in infrastructure spending

The government has said it will undertake a feasibility study on the problems on the A303 - as part of its programme of infrastructure work announced this afternoon.

A total investment of one hundred billion pounds has been announced, with railways, housing, and schools all set to benefit.

Local politicians are now divided on what the A303 announcement means; the conservatives say it's a significant step forward towards the long-awaited dualling of the road.

But the Exeter MP Ben Bradshaw says he's bitterly disappointed that the Government has failed to commit to funding the improvements -
he says several feasibility studies have happened before.
