Eight break-ins reported
A 28-year-old man from Dawlish has been arrested in connection with eight reported burglaries at schools in Teignbridge.
The incidents occurred between October 2023 to January 2024 when the schools were unoccupied and entry was forced, causing damage and theft of cash and electronic devices.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of burglary and is being questioned by officers.
The school communities have been impacted, with some schools having to stay closed following the burglaries due to the damage caused.
Police have been working closely with the schools to investigate the incidents, seize CCTV footage, and make enquiries in the local areas.
