A man from Plymouth, who raped two women, has been jailed for 18 years.

Craig McCormick, 33, of Colesdown Hill, was sentenced at the city's Crown Court, to 22 years, with 18 to be spent in custody and the remainder on licence.

McCormick had been charged with two counts of rape against one victim, following a three-day trial held in June, he was found guilty on one charge and not guilty on the second.

He had previously pleaded guilty to four charges of rape against another victim.

The offenses took place between 2012 and 2021.

Following the sentencing DC Sarah Hall, who led the investigation, praised the victims for coming forward and hopes it encourages more people to report abuse and sexual offences.

She says “Devon & Cornwall Police remains committed to supporting survivors of abuse and sexual offences and we will actively investigate and, where the evidence supports, and charge people who commit these crimes.
