Police renew appeal for witnesses to crash that killed 3-year-old

Three-year-old Reuben Williams had an unquenchable thirst for discovery

Parents of Reuben Williams pay tribute to their little boy

A three-year-old Devon boy who died just days before Christmas was an excited, energetic and wild child who's irreplaceable, say his parents.

Reuben and his mother were the only occupants of a Vovo that collided with a silver Honda Civic in Plymouth Road, Totnes on Tuesday 20 December round 12.25pm, between Fork Cross and Folaton Gate.

Police want to talk to witnesses who may have seen the Honda in the Kingsbridge, Modbury and Ermington areas that morning. A 30-year-old man from Brixham and a 38-year-old man from Torquay were arrested and released pending further enquiries.

Paying tribute to their son, his parents say: “He had an unquenchable thirst for discovery and knowledge, and loved nothing more than being held. He felt safe in our arms. He was our morning wake up call. He was our insect adventure. He was our snuggle-down movie time. He was our giggly tickle-lover. He was our bedtime milk and story."

They say they appreciate everyone’s love and good wishes and have been enormously touched by the support that they have received from both the Totnes area and the wider community.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage should contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting log number 290 for 20 December 2017.
