Prayers said for farmers in churches

It's claimed that the crisis facing Devon's farmers now is as bad as the foot and mouth epidemic of 2001.

The Bishop of Exeter is highlighting the many problems facing the agriculture industry, which include the Schmallenberg virus killing lambs, the long winter which has delayed the sowing of crops, and the continuing high rate of bovine TB.

It's tradition for churches to pray for farmers on this particular Sunday, and Michael Langrish has written a special prayer which is being said in all Devon's C of E parishes today.
