Good news for Chiefs' season-ticket holders
With just a small interruption in the autumn, sports grounds across the country have been bereft of supporters, but that's about to change.
Now Exeter Chiefs have announced the final two scheduled home games of the season will be played in front of supporters.
It won't be quite business-as-usual, because numbers will be limited and some social distancing will stay in place. But it's a fillip for fans who are able to get in, and marks the return to some form of normality.
Matches against Newcastle Falcons on 30 May and Sale Sharks on 12 June will be open to season-ticket holders. They've already been contacted by the club with the good news.
The Chiefs are asking for people to try to book in blocks of six people if possible. Whilst recognising that won't work for everyone, it means the maximum number of fans can be accommodated under the current rules.
There's also a restriction on drinking alcohol in the North Terrace, although food and soft drinks will be permitted.
Those two games may not be the final ones of the season at Sandy Park. The Chiefs currently sit in second place in the Premiership, and if it stays that way, or they go above Bristol Bears to top the table, it will bring a semi-final to the ground. Win that, and a trip to Twickenham - in front of fans - is on the cards.
