Heavitree Road police station broken into
Devon and Cornwall Police have referred themselves to the Information Commissioner's Office after confidential files and videos from a redundant police station were posted on the internet.
A man in his fifties has been arrested and bailed in relation to the incident in which documents including medical records and photographs of people who died in an accident appeared online.
Footage of people inside Heavitree Road police station in Exeter, which closed more than three years ago, was also made publicly available.
The force says its has now improved security at the site, which was abandoned after a new Exeter police station opened next door to the service's headquarters at Middlemoor.
