Council consults residents on spending cuts

Exeter residents are being warned about looming cuts to services which could include street cleaning, public toilets and CCTV coverage.

The city council needs to save four million pounds over the next three years.

Despite continued funding cuts in recent years the council says it's kept services going through efficiency savings, but now that's going to change.

And today it's beginning an online consultation to see which services are most important to residents.

People are invited to complete surveys under the headings of Parks and public spaces, Helping People, Cultural City and Safer City, giving their views on where spending should be prioritised.

The consultation runs for four weeks and the surveys can be found on the council's website.
