Pupils in Devon schools continue to do well throughout primary and secondary education, despite being among the worst funded in the country.
New figures show that pupils in Devon are achieving higher than average scores at all leves of education; from early years to GCSE.
72 per cent of children in the county achieve a good level of development compared with 66 per cent nationally. That's despite receiving around £270 less per head than the rest of the country.
Devon is in the top 25 out of 150 local councils for attainment at all stages and subjects for primary education.
Overall GCSE results were also higher than the national average.
