Exeter City FC has another covid case

Third person struck in camp

Exeter City Football Club now has three people self-isolating having be confirmed to have coronavirus.

It follows routine testing the club has put in place for players, coaching and medical staff. The club won't release details of who it is or whether they're a player or someone else at the Cat and Fiddle training ground at Clyst St Mary. The patient is now self-isolating.

This is the third set of tests carried out by the club as the players returned to training at the beginning of last week. As with the first two positive tests, the individual had not displayed any symptoms associated with covid-19.

Tests are carried out twice a week at the training ground, where players and staff are said to be following strict guidance around training safely.

After the second round of testing manager Matt Taylor said: ‘From the minute anyone arrives at the training ground, to when they leave, we are following the guidelines to ensure we can train safely. It is extremely pleasing to receive all negative results from the latest round of testing."

The club hasn't released an updated statement from him now the latest round has resulted in a positive case.
