An Exeter pensioner is in a serious condition in hospital, after he was hit by a cyclist at the weekend.
Calthorpe Road, in the Whipton area, was closed for over three hours on Saturday morning after a teenage cyclist was in collision with a man in his 70s near the junction with Alberta Crescent.
The pedestrian, who was crossing the road, suffered a serious head injury and is in intensive care following complications.
The 16 year old cyclist sustained minor injuries and anyone who witnessed the incident just before 8 o'clock on Saturday morning is asked to contact police.
