Fourth emergency in the last few days
Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew launched to an incident on Monday afternoon (16 August 2021) involving a 23ft yacht in Lyme Bay.
There was reports of a yacht in difficulty around 10 miles offshore from Exmouth with engine failure and emanating smoke. The charity’s lifeboat launched at 1.10 p.m. and made its way to the boat's last known location.
The yacht, which was on its way from Brixham to Brighton, was given a quick assessment before the crew and boat were towed to Exmouth Marina and the lifeboat was back on service a short time later.
The RNLI is warning people to be careful and have provided advice for sailing and motorboating here.
