Keep your windows and doors closed if you're in the area
Fire crews have been tackling a blaze at a derelict building in Sidmouth.
The fire broke out in the early hours of the morning involving the former council offices in Knowle.
A statement from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "We have seven pumping appliances, two aerial ladder platforms and water bowsers at the scene.
"A high volume pump is being used to extract water from the river to supply crews at the incident. The hose runs from the river, up Station Road to The Knowle and road closures will be in place for several hours so please avoid the area."
Residents in the area are being asked to keep all windows and doors closed.
The fire service are also liaising with experts as protected bats are known to be in the area.
This is an ongoing story. We will update this page when we have more information.
