MP calls for NHS walk-in centres to be safeguarded

The MP for Exeter is urging local residents to make their voices heard in the consultation on the future of the city's two NHS walk-in centres.

The first of two community engagement meetings takes place this evening, organised by the local Clinical Commissioning Group.

It says it's looking at the way it currently uses the centres at the RD&E hospital and Sidwell Street, and wants to make sure Exeter has the right levels of service in the right place at the right time.

Ben Bradshaw says the centres are vital in taking the pressure off hospital accident and emergency departments, and is calling on the public to ask the NHS for them to be safeguarded.
