Drivers run red lights
Commuters and residents in parts of Plymouth are facing travel disruptions after an exclusion zone was brought around a block of flats.
The City Council warns of delays around Evolution Cove in Stonehouse as people return to work and school today (20 April). The authority is also working with Citybus Plymouth to get services through which are travelling to Royal William Yard.
An exclusion zone was enforced last month and extended on Friday night because of ongoing structural concerns.
The closures are affecting parts of Dunford Street, Barrack Place, and Emma Place, with traffic lights in place and signage to better advise drivers.
Changes have been made to traffic lights, and Highways officers will be around to help. Despite these efforts, there has been a rise in drivers jumping red lights in an attempt to bypass congestion.
The council says "we strongly encourage people to consider alternative travel arrangements, such as using the ferry service from the Hoe to Royal William Yard, and to allow extra time for your journeys."
Residents are being urged to check before they travel and stay up-to-date through this page.
